Second Check up...

20121203 Monday - Mom is feeling very good today.  She was well enough to meet up some of her friends like Cheung Cheung Auntie, Auntie Ivy, etc. for dinner.  It's always a good sign when Mom is seeing her friends.  Auntie Ivy, thanks for treating them dinner!  Thanks also to my spy, Suzanne for your report and keeping an eye on them, hahaha.  That's why I didn't get to see her today but it's all good.  As I sharing in the Caring Retreat in October, I'll try my best to let other ppl love her as much as I can.  God is good always!

Btw, Grandma has arrived safe from Hong Kong.  Thanks everyone in HK who took care of her during her stay and gave her such a great time.  Amazingly, she's only a 91 year young lady who is well enough to travel back and forth all by herself, hahaha.  Thank God for that.  She really behaved this time.  She didn't eat too crazy and got sick.  It's actually her first time staying away from the doctor's office (thank God again, hehehe).  So once she's adjusted, we may bring her up to stay with Mom and Dad.  (Oh yea, she's still living on her own, hahaha).

20121204 Tuesday - Christmas is coming soon, pray that the whole world understand what we are celebrating for.  Interestingly, it's the warmest day for the longest time.  I think we are warmer than Hong Kong today, hahaha.  Mom is definitely feeling better today cuz' she's eating well!  First of all, when I call Dad's cell phone, SHE PICKED UP!!!  That's typical before she got sick, hahaha.  I miss that!  She told me that they are out for afternoon tea.  They finished what Mom craved for and had to re-order for more just cuz' Mom wanted more.  They came to our place for dinner after.  Since they were early, they got to spend some time with the boys.  Jake was the angel this time, ran out to welcome Mom with a big hug and kiss from his own will, hehehe.  Thanks Jake.  The boys were so excited in front of Mom and Dad tonight. Is it why you guys are this tired in the morning?

They didn't stay for long after dinner cuz' they need to rest up for tomorrow's appointment.  Pray that Mom's smooth recovery is part of His plan.

20121205 Wednesday - Mom is having her second check up today.  However, the news I first got from them over the phone wasn't the best.  I mentioned her blast cells in BM at around 16% last week and this time even her blood stream has shown some signs of having bad WBCs (at 16).  And the doctor's assistant was pretty sure that Mom will need to go through another induction chemo therapy again before we can talk about having a transplant.  My heart sank a little but my faith is still strong.  Doctor asked her to rest up and get ready for another round of PMH stay in the coming week or two.  These naughty cells just didn't want to leave Mom.  Pray for our peaceful heart for upcoming trails.  Pray also for the strength of Mom's body.  According to Carly, girls from the Ng's are tough and I know Mom is very tough.

I can feel His presence and a lot of things have shown us to reassure that.  Why are we still worried?  It's because we are not Him.  We are human beings who's weak and that's exactly why we need him ALL THE TIME.  God, please let us lean on Your laps like a little baby whenever we want to.  Touch our back and comfort us (like what I'm doing now to Jake and Jonah, but only better, sweeter and greater).  Mom will also be one of the babies that I know You wouldn't leave her for even one second.  Thanks for Your love and we love you too!!!  Pray for joy even when we are facing trails.  Pray for perseverance when trails just don't seem to go away.  Pray also for wisdom and let's grow mature spiritually together.

The above was typed right after I hung up with her in the morning.  I called Mom again and see how she's doing in the afternoon.  Thank God for twisting the story once again for us.  The doctor finally got to see her after.  He wasn't sure about Mom's condition after seeing her report.  So, he made his team to further check Mom's WBC and that's why it took them longer.  The detailed report came back saying that the WBC of Mom's aren't bad ones (which is a good news).  He said the report is showing clusters of cells in her BM.  And in those clusters, she has as high as 80% of blast cells but other area has only 1-2%, so overall it's at around 5% (compared to 16% last week in her BM).  Since the WBC in her blood stream is not right even though they are good cells.  The doctor wanted to do another BM biopsy before he can hold a meeting with difference doctors for more opinions.  That's right, Mom had another BM biopsy yesterday.  But it was a better news for sure compared to the morning call.   Now we are not sure what's the next procedure is, not until the doctors come up with a conclusion.  But at least, we don't have to expect another induction chemo treatment again, for now.  God's still in charge.  We just need to keep praying...

It looks like Grandma is all rest up and ready to stay with Mom starting tomorrow.  God is good...

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.  Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.  If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. (James 1:2-5)
