Gloria is right, everything is a blessing (now that we look back)...
God let Mom be healthy enough to come back to Canada, enjoyed two full weeks for fun times seeing all her family and friends, brothers and sisters before making her stay home and get treatments here last minute. Not right at the beginning but at the end when things are still not too too late...when they still have enough time to cancel things like their tickets, car return, terminating their cell phone plans, freezing the cables service, etc. He lays healing hands on her with the best cancer care team in Ontario, or maybe in Canada with the top notched doctors and nurses. He also showed me how sweet 404/DVP are at night. Sending tons of angels around us including all Auntie/Uncles and MCBC!!!
God also allowed us to take the family photo shoot that morning before Mom needed to go to the hospital. Thanks Chris for working so hard just to get the photos ready for us.
Just found out from the nurses, NO FLOWERS is recommended for cancer patients please. I can still show her but it cannot stay in the room. So, they'll all be with me if you send her flowers, hahaha. Thanks for the sweet thoughts still.
20121022 Monday - Chemo Day 3: Mom didn't feel very good today when I first saw her but started feeling better and better while talking to her and updating her about what's going on. She still needs to pee a lot but that's normal. It's good. Mom said she has craving for cup noodles, hahaha. I'll get her some later. She has finished her Daunorvbicin today and will only need CRC-A slow drip from now on. The doctors gave her platelets and antibiotics today.
She managed to draft up a email her own to most of you, thanks to Steve Job (and Fian). Watching Mom and Dad having little fights over little things like attaching the older contents or not could be very annoying but I was actually enjoying everything single bit of it. Thank God always.

20121023 Tuesday - Chemo Day 4: from now on, only CRC-A slow drip will be injected. Pray that the side effects will be minimal. The bone marrow biopsy result is still not ready. We wonder if they want to wait until after this round of chemo cuz' another round of biopsy will be done after. Maybe they only want to compare the before and after, no rush I guess. We trust that the medical team will do what they need to. Everything is in God's hands regardless.
I got there earlier this evening (thanks B, J1 and J2). She didn't eat much today with no appetite, didn't even want the cup noodles I brought her. I bought Dad some raisin bread for breakfast too. Mom was so tired and didn't even want to get up for the soup/congee. Good thing I have my secret weapon (our photo shoot pictures), she was able to see all the pictures, had some soup and talked to us until we left. Yea, Uncle Ed came visit too. Thanks Tyler for your thoughtfulness, leaving the keys to Dad and preparing dinner for him - that's sweet brother!!!
The next step is to see if the bone marrows of my two uncles match Mom's. Pray that God will provide a perfect match for Mom and she is well rested with better appetite. Dad was whining a little about his stomach, maybe he doesn't have enough to eat, maybe it's the unstable meal schedule, maybe it's the stress, maybe it's just the muscle getting up and down helping mom to pee. Please pray for him too. I Skyped with them this morning and Mom was actually having Dad's raisin bread, hahaha.
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." (Isaiah 41:10)

With God's company, I'm sure Irene can go through this difficult stage with ease and proceed to the path of recovery. We will continue our heartily prayer for her. Hope that Stanley and you will also take care not to get burnt out. Blessings!
