She can swallow a lil

Another weekend has passed, in other words, two weeks has gone by in PMH.  Mom's first chemo therapy has completed on Saturday.  Now it becomes more like a waiting game.  Wait to see if there's any more side effects, wait to see how good her body will respond, wait for the next biopsy on Day 28-30, wait patiently for God's plan.  Regardless, time is only our friend, not our enemy.  Treasure everything God is giving us and live without assuming that there's a tomorrow!!!

201210226 Friday - Chemo Day 7 (Last Day): Cuz' of fellowship, I got there late (around 11pm).  I felt kinda bad hoping that Mom is still awake enough for the soup.  Thanks Uncle Ed and Auntie Tiana (Jenny and Derek, too) for visiting and keeping her up!!!  I couldn't help to smile seeing you guys when I opened the door, hehehe.

Dad said she ate a little ice cream and Ensure this afternoon and her platelets are improving after transfusion.  That means she can swallow a little today, YAY!!!  Keep it up Mom.  However, her allergy is bugging her.  The nurse needed to give her Benadryl twice.  I'm sure it's drowsy cuz' she just felt asleep while we were still chatting loud.  Have some sleep Mom, I'll see you tomorrow.

20121027 Saturday - Rainy day.  After meeting up with Angela/Ed's and Shirley's (thanks for your prayers), I wanted the boys to sleep better so decided to go downtown myself.  It took me almost 2 hours!  Well, that includes picking up soup/congee from my parents, reheating, traffic, special McDonald's request by Dad...Zzz...zzz

Mom's mouth is a little better today.  She ate a little congee but too full for soup. She wanted something cold cuz' she was having a fever.  The nurse needed to take blood samples for blood culture from a new spot (another poke).  Thank God for this IV nurse!  She was really nice and good, only took her 2 mins at one shot.  Going back up is also tough, next time I'll tag Gloria and the boys along so that they can keep me up at least...or maybe I can drop them off at the Science Center, hahaha...

Thanks Gloria for sending me this picture just to keep me up.  It worked BIG TIME!!!

20121028 Sunday - With my bad experience on Saturday, I decided to go at night today.  Traffic is much better but the rainy condition was making the drive challenging at night.  Thank God for the picture, hahaha...

I know Mom's mouth is healing cuz' she had a craving for tuna sandwich.  So I went buy her two cans of tuna.  Glo helped prepared the dressing, can opener, bread, etc.  Yes, I made her fresh sandwich in front of her!   She managed to finish half, even though she was saying that it feels like its stuck in the middle.  I'm happy to see her eat.  Pray that nothing is blocking her inside.  The doctors will check her out tomorrow.  She also finished a cup of soup.  The other issue is her allergic reaction.  I noticed rash all over her body.  It must be itchy.  The nurse offered her ice packs to reduce the itchiness and Dad will probably need to stay up late.  Pray that Mom can sleep tight (so Dad also can).

Thanks Uncle Ken for his painting and when I pay more attention, I found a lot of other gifts and greeting cards in the room.  I know she is filled with love, thanks everyone!

The big storm Sandy is approaching, I'm not sure if I can visit her Monday evening.  Pray for minimal damage so I can still see them every night.  Pray that God can ease off Mom's itchiness on her skin and that she can rest well.  Pray for Dad's health as he asked me to bring him all these sore throat medications.  His health is as important as Mom's.  But no worries, if Grandpa is not feeling well, I'll send these two Super Grandsons to help out Grandma.
