20121105 Monday - They've found yeast from the blood culture. Not sure if it's from the Hickman line or from her heart, so they removed mom's Hickman line today and hopefully it's just from the line, nowhere else. She's therefore on a different type of antibiotic starting today. Dr. Shaheen needs to go back to his clinic so Dr. Lutynski will take over, our the newest angel from God.
The doctor is older and humorous according to them. He recommended aerobic exercise and said he would do it with mom if required! He also asked mom about her lungs, not just the recent issues, but history back dated all the way to when Mom was born. Mom told him about her hundred days cough (百曰咳) when she was a few months old. He said this could be why her lungs are the weakest link.
Sorry Mom, I couldn't FaceTime with you cuz of this seminar I have in Mississauga, will try later. Dad said Mom couldn't breathe well last night but got better after the nurse had changed the oxygen valve. She's back on a high level 5. Dr. Lutynski helped her remove the blockages in her left nostril in the morning, now Mom can use the nose tubes instead of the face mask. Please keep her lungs' healing in your prayers.
20121106 Tuesday - Mom is not feeling well today comparatively. Dad is also falling asleep even when I'm up there. Yes, both of them are exhausted...
Mom was tired pretty much the whole day but got woken up many times in the afternoon when she is half asleep. I know Daddy is exhausted. Mom said he's getting "sick" taking care of her. They both shared a bit about what happened today. Mainly miscommunication plus exhaustion and therefore frustrations. God, this is a challenge but we know you won't put us on something we can't handle.
Now when I think back, Dad kept asking me not to leave too many things down cuz they only need to stay for another few days. But Dad said someone told him that they may need to stay longer. I think he must feel like hitting a wall. I offered to give me a day off, and let me be No. 4 but he refused. I think he needs a break at least once a week if this is going to last for a while. Maybe every Saturday so he gets to go home, spend time with the boys, go to church, get recharged before getting back on Sunday...please keep praying for us.
Mom was supposed to have the Hickman line back today but it didn't happen. Let's see what God has planned for her. Everyone is tired I know, including myself. We will pray for energy and good time management skills during the day. Pray for Dad, I know this guy needs a break. Pray for positive response from Mom's bone marrow. Pray also that the medical team will have the wisdom. Your grace is always sufficient regardless, even though we are half asleep, our faith will only goes up...
The good thing is that Fian and I have finally figured out a way to get Mom the Korean show, hahaha. Now we know her eyes will have lots of exercise...our next target will probably something for Dad - Champion League maybe, hahaha...
Another picture we took from Mom's iPad. Hope this will bring some smiles to you guys!!! Faith up everyone (thanks Tim)
One little clip I would like to share with you this time. Enjoy...
"But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me." (2 Corinthians 12:9)
